Overseas Experience

Vision Trips and Short-term Mission Trips offer an opportunity for our donors to see firsthand the difference your partnership with Visionledd is having in the lives of orphans and widows in the communities we serve in sub-Saharan Africa.

Vision Trips

Vision Trips give pastors, churches and business leaders the opportunity to see what God is doing in Africa in the midst of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. These trips enable participants to meet pastors and community and ministry leaders on the front-lines of the battle against HIV/AIDS. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about projects that are changing the lives of entire communities and discover the ways in which you, your church or your business can impact the lives of thousands of people.

The focus of these trips is learning rather than serving. Given the cultural, historical and religious complexities of Africa, this approach will lay a strong foundation with our African colleagues while preparing us to discern God's will about the possibility of engagement.

See if God would lead you, your church or your business to walk alongside African churches as they build faith, generate hope and minister in communities devastated by HIV/AIDS.

Trip Dates

Short-term Mission Trips

Short-Term Mission Trips provide the opportunity for groups and individuals to work on the front-lines of care - experiencing the work of HIV/AIDS relief, community support and spiritual counseling. In offering hands-on training and support to communities across sub-Saharan Africa you are helping to transform entire communities, teaching sustainability and caring for the most basic needs. Whether you are helping to build a community school or offering home-based care to families in need, you are acting as the hands and feet of Jesus in a nation desperate for love, compassion and a healing touch.

Each trip and team is somewhat different depending on the needs in Africa and the skills, abilities and interests of team members.

"You can't put a value on short term missions. Going and seeing these children running around in ripped clothing - they have nothing. They don't know when they'll eat. As a woman you look at your children and grandchildren. You are motivated, you have to do something. I'm trying to get women together to go on these trips. If we all did our part this wouldn't be happening in Africa or anywhere in the world."Sharon Roberts, WOW Mission Trip Participant
